Important - Please Read

Three computer programs are available from this website to accompany the book Concrete Structures: Stresses and Deformations, 3rd Edition by Ghali, Favre and Elbadry. A detailed description of the software, its objectives, its input and its output are included in Appendix G of the book itself..

The software can be run on IBM computers or compatibles operating with Windows or with DOS prompt (Command Prompt).

The software available to download consists of three computer programs:

  • CREEP calculates creep, aging coefficients and relaxation function for concrete.
  • SCS (Stresses in Cracked Sections) calculates stresses and strains in individual reinforced concrete sections
  • TDA (Time-Dependent Analysis) gives the immediate and the time-dependent changes in stresses and strains due to creep and shrinkage of concrete and relaxation of prestressed reinforcement.

Both SCS and TDA perform the analysis for an individual cross section. A more comprehensive computer program that performs these analyses for a number of sections and calculates deflections and rotations for members of variable sections is available; see:

RPM (Reinforced and Prestressed Members), Elbadry, M. and Ghali, A., American Concrete Institute, P.O. Box 9094, Farmington Hills, MI 48333-9094, USA.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ

The Creep, SCS and TDA software has been produced by the Authors of Concrete Structures to accompany the book and is not for sale. The software is available for individual use only.

It has been assumed that the design and the assessment of structures are entrusted to experienced engineers, and that calculations are carried out under the direction of appropriately experienced and qualified supervisors. Users of this software are expected to draw upon other works on the subject including national and international codes of practice, and are expected to verify the appropriateness and the content of information they draw from this software.

Although maximum care has been taken in preparing the software the Authors and the Publisher do not warrant that the functions contained in the software will meet the users' requirements, or that the operation of the software will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the software is compatible with the users' hardware equipment or software operating environment, or that defects in the software will be corrected. The authors reserve the right to revise and change the contents of this web site, including the software, without obligation to notify any person of the revisions or the changes.

By downloading the software the user is agreeing to these terms and conditions, and those outlined in the full licence agreement.

No support on the downloading or the use of the programs will be provided.
